About me
After completing my studies in Public Relations and Marketing at the University of Amsterdam in 1993, I followed a one-year Masterclass in Interaction Design. At that time, the internet in the Netherlands was still in its infancy; the first Netscape browser was introduced, and XS4ALL was the first Dutch internet provider. During my practice at the VPRO in 1995, where I was responsible, among other things, for the project coordination of an interactive documentary on CD-ROM, I was introduced to the internet for the first time. In the years that followed, I worked as a webmaster for broadcasters IKON and HUMAN and for NUFFIC, among others.
Since our move abroad in 1997, I have worked mainly on a freelance basis; From 1997 to 2001 I built websites for various African NGOs in Cameroon. In 2002 we moved to Mexico, where we built a small hotel-restaurant on the Caribbean coast. Since then, I have designed websites for many small companies, mainly in the tourism sector.
In the meantime, I have always closely followed developments in the field of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and I have expanded my marketing knowledge by following a Social Media Marketing study. Building a website often goes hand in hand with advice in the field of SEO & SMM.
We recently sold the hotel-restaurant in Mexico. As a result, I now have much more time to build websites and engage in my favorite hobby: writing. You can contact me for (SEO) texts for websites, brochures, blogs, but also for the final editing of complex texts. Last but not least: my book about 20 beautiful, hectic years of running a hotel-restaurant on the Caribbean coast of Mexico is almost finished.
